2021 IWSA Scholarship Recipients
Jamie Pace
Jamie is currently attending La Vernia High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Business Professionals of the America, Bears Care Service Organization and Varsity Cheer.
She volunteers with the Special Olympics, her local food bank and at Ministry at Grace Bible Church. She is also a cheer coach at Rah Rahs Cheerleading & Tumbling. During the pandemic Jamie help with a virtual spirit week where she assisted with youth encouragement videos as well as community activities for her local nursing home.
Jamie will attend Texas State University where she plans to pursue a Marketing degree.
Ryan Zimmel
Ryan is currently attending Bandera High School where he is a member of the Business Professionals of America, the National Honor Society, the Bandera High School FFA, Student Council and is the team captain on the Varsity Basketball team.
Even with his challenging course load, his demanding athletic schedule and other extra-curricular activities, he has volunteered over 300 hours to his church and community.
Ryan has a passion for painting, music and theatre.
Ryan will attend Texas A&M University at College Station where he will pursue a degree in Business & Finance.
Isabella Jimenez
Isabella is currently attending Johnson High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society and the team captain of the Varsity Swim Team. She has received the Hispanic Heritage Entrepreneurship Silver Award and has her Entrepreneurship and Small Business Certificate.
She volunteers her time to tutor her fellow students in Algebra & Biology, and also volunteers with her church on the Feed the Homeless Community Outreach program.
Isabella has also developed and launched an app for youth to make healthier choices when it comes to their nutrition called My Fun Food app.
Isabella will attend the University of Texas in Austin and plans to pursue a degree in Business Administration.
Landy Davis
Landry is currently attending New Braunfels High School where she is a member of the National Honors Society and the New Braunfels FFA. She is part of the New Braunfels High School varsity film crew, the Comal County 4-H and is a member of the New Braunfels High School Unicorn Handlers spirit group.
Landry is very involved with FFA & Texas 4-H where she developed a love for the swine industry. Landry is the Livestock Ambassador for the state of Texas.
She started her own small business at age 17 called LD Freshie, Co, making car fresheners. She now sells in the wholesale market to 11 local businesses.
Landry will attend Tarleton State University and plans to pursue a degree in Agribusiness.
Liliana Rojas
Liliana is currently attending Alamo Heights High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society and the Hispanic National Honor Society.
She Volunteers at the YMCA as an assistant coach for the YMCA girls Basketball League. She also volunteers at the West Avenue Compassion Food Bank and at Woodridge Elementary School.
In her spare time, Liliana qualified for an entry to the South Texas PGA tournament and earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Liliana will attend St. Mary’s University where she plans to pursue a Finance & Risk Management degree.
Amanda has volunteered with Catholic Life Insurance, NHS Angel Tree, San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope, and FFA.
Amanda plans to attend Texas A&M University San Antonio, where she plans to pursue a degree in Accounting.
