2020 IWSA Scholarship Recipients
Yasmin Banuelos
Yasmin is currently attending Travis Early College High School (TECHS). She is a part of a dual enrollment program with San Antonio College (SAC). She was selected as the 2020 Distinguished Graduate in Liberal Arts at San Antonio College. She has been on the San Antonio College Deans list for 4 consecutive years. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.
She is a member of the Gamma Sigma Girls, a high school Girl Scout program and a member of AVID, where she has tutored underclassmen weekly. Yasmin is an inaugural member of Girl Up, a national women’s empowerment program.
Yasmin plans to attend Texas Tech where she will pursue a double major with degrees in Business Accounting and Spanish Language.
Ethan Fritzsche
Ethan is currently attending Churchill High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Peer Assistance Leadership & Service (PALS). He is ranked 37 out of 595 students. He will graduate with honors as Summa Cum Laude. Ethan is active in his church and volunteers with summer camp, coordinating youth programs. He volunteers with Special Olympics and has worked as a camp counselor and basketball coach at the Mighty Muscles Summer Sports camp. Ethan plans to attend Texas A&M University College Station, Mays Business School, where he plans to pursue his MBA.
Cort Hindes
Cort is currently attending Jourdanton High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society and has been in the top 10% of his class for 4 years. He is also a member of the Jourdanton High School FFA, LaParita 4-H and a member of the varsity Football, Baseball and Basketball teams.
He has volunteered with Jourdanton Little League, LaParita 4-H and the local Adopt a Highway program.
Cort plans to attend Texas Tech University, where he plans to pursue a degree in Finance and later his MBA.
Abigail Rosilier
Abby is currently homeschooled. She has taken honors classes as well as advance placement and dual credit classes. She has been a competitive acrobatic gymnast for 13 years. She has won numerous awards in acrobatics. In 2019, her trio was named National Champions and they are currently on the 2019-2020 senior national team. Abby started an Instagram account last year @abbyrosecases. She designed phone cases for friends and family. The business took off and now she has 33,000 plus followers. She is working with a CPA on creating an LLC and analyzing how to best invest her profits in order to grow the business even more. Abby plans to attend Baylor University, where she plans to pursue a degree in Business.
Amanda Selby
Amanda is currently attending McMullan County High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Senior Class Vice President, FFA Team Capitan and McMullan County Cowhand Lead guitarist. She has won numerous award with the McMullan County Livestock Show and a regional qualifier on 4 different UIL teams.
Amanda has volunteered with Catholic Life Insurance, NHS Angel Tree, San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope, and FFA.
Amanda plans to attend Texas A&M University San Antonio, where she plans to pursue a degree in Accounting.
