October 6, 2017

Hi Everyone!

We have changed seasons, at least according to the calendar, Fall-Autumn is here! This brings us Halloween, Pumpkins and hopefully cooler temperatures.

Remember our October luncheon is on Tuesday, October 24th due to the fact the FWIT Convention starts on October 26-29, 2017 in San Marcos. It’s not too late to join us and if you like golf join us for the FIWT Golf tournament on October 26th at The Bandit Golf Club. http://www.fiwt.com/

Lucy Martinez has another 2 hour CE Class, Improving CSI within the Agency instructed by Service King Collision. This will be before our the luncheon on 10-24-17.

Congratulations to Ana Tomes for winning the Sally Walsh Downs and Jane Jenkins IWSA Scholarship for her convention registration. Ana we look forward to you joining us at convention; get ready to have some fun!

Thank you Nangie Lowrie of Alpha Home for coming to speak with us at our September luncheon, Alpha Home is a non-profit residential substance abuse center.

Susie Hollingsworth has setup another great speaker for us. We will have Marilyn Dickenson with the Assistance League of San Antonio to talk about their mission. Assistance League of San Antonio is an all- volunteer, nonprofit organization that puts caring and commitment into action through philanthropic programs in the San Antonio community. If anyone has items to support their thrift store at 2611 West Ave., they can bring them to the luncheon. Anything you would give to Goodwill.

Thank you to our sponsors from last month:

  • Birthday sponsor: Enterprise Rent a Car
  • Clothing Drive Raffle sponsor: Dress for Success
  • Community Service Raffle sponsor: Sue Finke

Lisa Bumpas is gearing up and ready for us to sell raffle tickets! Be sure to connect with Lisa to help sell tickets, this is our Fall Fund Raiser to fund our student scholarships that are given away in May. lbumpas@gerloffinc.com

We welcome one of our newest members to IWSA: Karen Dayle Van Bushkirk.

I hope you all know and appreciate what a great group of women you have working behind the scenes to continue to move IWSA forward. If know you don’t know them you need to get to know them. I appreciate each and every one of them for their time and support of this organization. Thank you Ladies!

The last month or so has really been hard, lots of tragedy all over the country. So let’s be Encouraging! You never know what a smile, a kind word or a pat on the back can do for someone, and who knows maybe you will get one in return.

BE Involved * Happy * Positive
